It\u2019s easy to have faith when things in life are going smoothly. But, what about in those situations that shake you to your core? How do you hold onto your faith and trust that God is good, when things in your life feel anything but?<\/p>\n

I\u2019m currently in a season of life where I\u2019m facing a scary reality that I can\u2019t come to terms with, as hard as I try.<\/p>\n

Anger is a feeling I\u2019m not super familiar with, and honestly, it makes me uncomfortable. Yet, I\u2019ve felt it so much over the last several weeks. The situation feels completely unfair and out of my control. I wrestle with my fears daily, and try to reconcile a heartbreaking potential outcome with God\u2019s goodness.<\/p>\n

When Keeping Faith is Easier Said Than Done<\/h2>\n

My life is based around my faith, and yet, it still feels fragile.<\/p>\n

I know God is good, but I can\u2019t see his goodness in this.<\/p>\n

He is sovereign, and I trust he has a plan, but I wish he could take a different route to get there.<\/p>\n

What do you do when you want to trust God with your future, but your fears are taking control?<\/p>\n

Keep Communication Open<\/h2>\n

Be honest with yourself and with God. You don\u2019t have to pretend everything is fine. It may mean crying out to him and saying things like,<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so angry right now, but I don\u2019t want to be \u2013 please give me your peace.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to trust you Lord, but this is so scary and I\u2019m having a hard time seeing you in it \u2013 increase my faith.\u201d<\/p>\n

God can handle whatever we throw his way: our anger, doubts, questions, tears. He\u2019s there beside us to walk this road with us.<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/sup><\/strong><\/em>The\u00a0Lord<\/span> will fight for you; you need only to be still.\u201d (Exodus 14:14, NIV)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Worship in Faith Anyway<\/h2>\n

Faith is not based on feelings. Keep reading your Bible daily. Go to church. Sing worship songs \u2013 even if the words coming from your mouth feel half-hearted, and it\u2019s a fight to get them out. Sing it \u2019til you believe it.<\/p>\n

You have to trust that God has not abandoned you. The worst thing you can do during a difficult time is walk away from Him. Lean into Him instead.<\/p>\n

Continue to spend time with God and with other believers. Don\u2019t seclude yourself or shut down. Keep worshiping Him and talking to Him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will bless the Lord<\/span> at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.\u201d (Psalm 34:1, KJV)<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Look for the Little Things<\/h2>\n

God truly cares for you and he can see when your heart is breaking. He has a way of providing little details throughout the day to remind you of His presence.<\/p>\n

Maybe it\u2019s the sound of birds in the early morning hours, the breathtaking sunset as the day comes to a close, sweet giggles from your children as they play\u2026 little moments of joy and beauty that, for a moment, make you feel like everything\u2019s going to be okay. Hold onto those.<\/p>\n

God\u2019s got you!<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201c<\/sup>From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.\u201d (Psalm 61:2, KJV)<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
