Friday morning I was checking in with a co-worker about the day ahead. Somehow the conversation drifted and she mentioned that she believes in rebirth and hopes that she\u2019ll do good enough in this life so that in the next life she\u2019ll have parents who love and care for her so she doesn\u2019t have to go through all the shit she has in this life.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The conversation then slid to her mentioning someone in the District who continues to rise despite, in my co-workers view, incident after incident of being mean, etc.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I suggested that if she believes that our present deeds impact our future lives, she need not worry about this person who seems to continue to rise. What goes around comes around.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBut she\u2019s old,\u201d said my co-worker, \u201cno way she can get all she\u2019s got coming.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWell,\u201d I said, \u201cyou don\u2019t have to worry \u2013 in her next lives she might have hell to pay but you don\u2019t have to suffer now about that.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYou know,\u201d she said, \u201cthat just is not good enough for me.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Then we went on about the day. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
