Here\u2019s a review of the PBS documentary, The Buddha <\/i>(click here<\/a>)<\/span><\/span>. I saw the last hour and liked it a lot, especially appreciating W.S. Merwin and Jane Hirschfield, a couple of my favorite poets, who did much of the talking. Clark found them vapid.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Anyway, Clark\u2019s an old friend who often finds hinky and provocative angles to things. He found the film <\/span>\u201c\u2026haphazard, impulsive, and at times visually disjointed\u201d among other things.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Reminds me of how I thought the Dogen movie was lame but most other people I know liked it. Apparently, there\u2019s no accounting for taste.<\/span><\/span>
