I just got into it today and am glad I did. <a href=\"http:\/\/thepiratebay.org\/torrent\/4999553\/Bhikkhu_Bodhi_s_Exploring_the_Word_of_The_Buddha%20\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Click here<\/a> (its free!). It includes a godzillian talks and a bunch of charts and diagrams and such on everything from The Four Jhannas and Their Factors to Fetters to Wrong View and back again. This is a gold mine of dhamma.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\"><span style='font-family: Georgia,\"Times New Roman\",serif'>I spend most of my study and teaching time focused on Dogen, as you know if you look at this blog much, and yet (or and so?) I found myself just deeply enjoying the simple, straightforwardness of the original teaching. Mostly, I find it so relaxing.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\"><span style='font-family: Georgia,\"Times New Roman\",serif'>Years back, I went to Katagiri Roshi and told him that I wanted to study <a href='https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/library\/buddhism' target='_blank'>Buddhism<\/a> systematically. \u201cOh, \u2018systematically,'\u201d he said with a wry grin. \u201cThen you should start with the <i>Agama<\/i> (what the Japanese call the <i>Sutta Pitika<\/i>).\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\"><span style='font-family: Georgia,\"Times New Roman\",serif'>The translation available then was the old Rhys Davids translations which weren\u2019t so good, imho. Bhikku Bodhi, a real <a href='https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/library\/buddhism' target='_blank'>dharma<\/a> treasure, <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large\"><span style='font-family: Georgia,\"Times New Roman\",serif'>has<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large\"><span style='font-family: Georgia,\"Times New Roman\",serif'> beautifully <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large\"><span style='font-family: Georgia,\"Times New Roman\",serif'>translated this vast collection <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wisdompubs.org\/Pages\/search_results.lasso\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Click here<\/a> (it\u2019s <i>so not<\/i> free!). But <a href=\"http:\/\/www.accesstoinsight.org\/tipitaka\/index.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">click here<\/a> for a free version. When I retire in about 2030, I\u2019m going to read the whole thing again.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\"><span style='font-family: Georgia,\"Times New Roman\",serif'>Finally, not to leave you Dogenophiles hanging, Taigen and Shohaku, thanks to Wisdom Publication, are putting out a paperback of <i>Dogen\u2019s Extensive Record <\/i>that includes an index! about 75 pages long. Another dharma gold mine.
