This post explains what I’ve been up to and is also a pre-invitation for your involvement in projects that may interest you.

Much of this new direction has been stimulated by Steve Harrington, a consultant and facilitator who I knew back in my Clouds in Water days. Steve contacted me several weeks ago with a bevy of good ideas and I love good ideas! (That might seem strange for a Zen priest but, hey, letting go of good and bad ideas is one incredibly good idea.)

Toward that end, Steve and I have been doing some digging around the internet for a video conferencing product that would support presentations and conversations via the internet, stimulated by Keep Me In Your Heart Awhile: The Haunting Zen of Dainin Katagiri. We’re getting close to a product that might work and we’ll be test driving it with a group tomorrow and see how it rolls.

In conjunction with these internet trainings/conversations, look for the upcoming Facebook group, Keep Me In Your Heart Zen (might have a different name, like “Haunting Zen” or “Not Getting Zen” – your thoughts welcome) to help weave together the community of people interested in this style of Zen practice.

I’m also planning to use video conferencing technology for a class as part of the next 100-day practice for those who can’t make it to Transforming Through Play Temple in the flesh on a regular basis. It’ll begin early in September. What I’ve got in mind is a weekly session on Genjokoan (Unfolding Truth). The class would be interactive with both audio, video and desktop sharing (so we could all be looking at the same passage, commentary, other supporting content). These sessions would be recorded so that anyone interested could view and participate via this blog or Facebook.

I’m enjoying collaboration with Steve. The steps ahead are clear and exciting. I hope you will check out the upcoming offerings and participate in some way. I’ll keep you posted.

The Wild Fox Blog has been more quiet than usual these past few weeks and my energy to start a new book this summer has also gotten redirected.
