We enjoyed Memorial Day Weekend at one of our favorite places \u2013 the North Shore of Lake Superior. On Monday morning we were walking Bodhi in 50 degree weather at <\/span>Kitchi Gammi Park<\/a> when we spotted the above guy out on the lake (in a wet suit, thank goodness) trying to ride on a surf board \u2013 sometimes standing, sometimes sitting \u2013 using a canoe paddle. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I can only hope that he wasn\u2019t a blog reader, pushed to the very edge of normalcy by the question, \u201cWhen there is nothing to do, what will you do?\u201d responding with an extreme dharma<\/a> presentation. <\/span><\/p>\n

The above photo is with my zoom on maximum. I don\u2019t think he was trying to get to the ship out there, but apparently was just playing (in 35 degree water!), maybe trying to catch a wave \u2013 they were bigger than the photo shows. Although he repeatedly fell off the board, he did hang onto his paddle and arrived back on shore safely and looking quite refreshed too, I might add.
<\/span>The Duluth area is wacky like that and one of the reasons I love it. <\/span><\/p>\n

Saturday night we had dinner at the <\/span>Burrito Union <\/a>on a street called \u201cBob Dylan Way\u201d (really, see below and\/or <\/span>click <\/a>here). Not only great food but their beer comes from the Fitger\u2019s Brewhouse. The Irish Stout and Wheatberry Wine were both worthy of capitalization! <\/span><\/p>\n
