At home alone now and lingering over a cup of coffee and the piercing beauty of the phrases in Zen Sand: The Book of Capping Phrases for Koan Practice<\/i>, translated by Victor Sogen Hori.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Even though this isn\u2019t a part of the Harada-Yasutani curriculum, I suggested <\/span>recently <\/span>that a student find a verse from Zen Sand <\/i>that expressed his understanding of the koan he\u2019d just presented.\u00a0 We both enjoy this kind of thing so he readily agreed.<\/span><\/div>\n
