A year later they started <a href=\"http:\/\/www.willowcreek.org\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Willow Creek Community Church<\/a>. Though Lynne had intended to become a social worker, she did not hesitate to commit her life to church ministry, convinced that God has given the local church a clear mandate to address the needs of \u201cthe whole person in the whole world.\u201d She\u2019s been involved in Willow Creek\u2019s ministry partnerships in under-resourced communities in Latin America and Africa for years. She collaborated with the Willow Creek Association to develop <a href=\"http:\/\/www.willowcreek.com\/hopeandaction\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Hope and Action<\/a>\u2014a DVD and participants guide that helps churches and small groups begin to address the AIDS pandemic. She\u2019s the author of <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0310272319?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=zoecarnatecom-20\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Nice Girls Don\u2019t Change the World<\/a><\/em>, and co-author of <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0310219272?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=zoecarnatecom-20\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Rediscovering Church<\/a><\/em> and <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0310214653?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=zoecarnatecom-20\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Fit to be Tied<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>These days, Lynne serves as Advocate for Global Engagement at Willow Creek. She has traveled extensively in Africa and the Middle East. Her current areas of focus are Casa de Luz, Willow\u2019s Spanish-speaking congregation, a movement of support for Congolese women called Ten for Congo, and advocacy for peace with justice in the Holy land. Lynne and Bill live in Barrington, IL, and have two adult children, Todd and Shauna, one son-in-law, Aaron Niequist, and one grandson, Henry, who runs the family.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wiconi.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Richard Twiss<\/a><\/strong> is a member of the Sicangu Band of the Rosebud Lakota\/Sioux Tribe, a First Nations tribe in North America. Since 1974 he has lived and walked as a follower of the Jesus Way. He has been married to his wife Katherine since 1976, and they have raised four respectful, caring sons. A veteran of radical First Nations protests in the 1970s, Richard became a follower of the Jesus Way in 1974 while alone on a beach in Maui Hawaii. He\u2019s come to understand Jesus as\u00a0\u201cthe Creator of Heaven and Earth.\u201d His vision and ambition is to help people and communities come to know and experience what it means to live in a \u201cgood way\u201d, a way of life that is free from all manner of destructive forces that would seek to oppress and ruin lives. He is passionate about empowering people to live healthy and productive lives spiritually, physically and socially. He is the author of <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0830725458?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=zoecarnatecom-20\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">One Church, Many Tribes<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.denisonwitmer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Denison Witmer<\/a><\/strong> is an acclaimed singer-songwriter from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He released his first music in 1995 in a cassette titled <em>My Luck, My Love<\/em>. Since then he has released a series of LPs, EPs, and his album <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B0009X75X8?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=zoecarnatecom-20\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Are You A Dreamer?<\/a><\/em>, featuring Don Peris (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theinnocencemission.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">The Innocence Mission<\/a>) and Sufjan Stevens received acclaim and good reviews from Pitchfork Media and Entertainment Weekly, the latter of whom <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ew.com\/ew\/article\/0,,1090032,00.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">said<\/a> \u201c[Denison\u2019s] brand of happy anachronism is easy enough to fall into \u2014 if you can slow down long enough to enjoy it.\u201d (Because the Goose is <em>all about <\/em>slowing down and recognizing signs of life all around us, you better believe we will!) Denison and Sufjan appeared on <a href=\"http:\/\/rosiethomas.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Rosie Thomas<\/a>\u2018s 2007 album <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B002OUR8FY?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=zoecarnatecom-20\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">These Friends of Mine<\/a><\/em>.\u00a0Denison\u2019s style has been described as \u201cneo-folk,\u201d in a manner reminiscent of 1970s-era singer-songerwriters including Cat Stevens and Nick Drake. Witmer\u2019s lyrics are poetic and thoughtful; his guitar work, while simple-sounding, relies on complex fingerpicking.<\/p>\n<p>These unique voices are but three who will be forming a chorus of art, conversation, new perspectives, and fresh actions.
