We consider the sacred as immanent in the world, whether or not we also include a transcendent dimension as well. (I do.) The sacred is around us, all the time, if we but have the eyes to see it, ears to hear it, and heart to feel it.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.patheos.com\/\/Pagan\/Indigeny-Debate-Sufenas-Virius-Lupus-09-07-2012.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cThe Indigeny Debate\u201d by\u00a0P. Sufenas Virius Lupus:<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0<em>\u201cThe present column\u2019s subject at this juncture is likely to be one that many people vehemently disagree with me on. And many of those who disagree will be people whose work I enjoy, whose views I respect, and whose beings I love, and who (needless to say) I know personally. I don\u2019t mean this to be offensive toward them in any manner; I am merely seeking to nuance a certain term\u2019s usage, and to inject what I think is a needed critical note into a usage that doesn\u2019t get as much attention or questioning as I think it deserves.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/bishopinthegrove\/2012\/09\/paganism-beyond-the-warm-and-fuzzy\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cPaganism Beyond the Warm and Fuzzy\u201d by Teo Bishop:<\/a><\/strong> <em>\u201cAll things have their place, and there is certainly a place for the warm and fuzzy in Paganism. But I think it\u2019s also necessary to remember that there are parts of nature, and aspects of the Kindred we worship, that can be violently cold, fiercely wild, and terribly awe inspiring.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.patheos.com\/Pagan\/Best-Man-Eric-Scott-08-31-2012.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>\u201cBest Man\u201d by Eric Scott:<\/strong><\/a> <em>\u201cThis is not the first wedding where I have been part of the bridal party; for that matter, it isn\u2019t the first Catholic wedding I\u2019ve been a part of, either. I like being in the wedding, and I am genuinely honored to be asked to play such a role for my friends. But it leaves me uneasy, too. I have never managed to enter a church without someone making a perfunctory joke about me bursting into flames the moment I enter the nave. The jokes may be in fun, but there\u2019s a nugget of truth in them: there\u2019s something genuinely incongruous about my presence here. However lovely the building, I don\u2019t belong in it.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>BONUS:<\/strong> Remember <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/wildhunt\/tag\/dabble-gate\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">all the fuss back in 2010<\/a> over\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/patheos.com\/blogs\/wildhunt\/tag\/christine-odonnell?webSyncID=03087cba-a155-b970-2063-8a236edc146d&amp;sessionGUID=673e449b-86bb-db36-dd70-1a9b5b7a5bde\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">Christine O\u2019Donnell<\/a>\u2018s candidacy? <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tGGAgljengs\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">The infamous \u201cI\u2019m not a Witch\u201d ad?<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0O\u2019Donnell\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2010\/11\/02\/odonnell-is-most-covered-candidate-in-2010\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">completely dominated the election news cycle that year<\/a>\u00a0thanks to comments made over ten years ago that she had \u201cdabbled\u201d with \u201cwitchcraft\u201d. The abundance of mean-spirited mockery had some in our community questioning why \u201cdabbling\u201d in a minority religion is such a deal-breaker for political office.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">httpv:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tGGAgljengs<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Now, talk show host Bill Maher, who released the \u201cwitch\u201d comments from an old show, apologized personally to O\u2019Donnell this past Friday, saying that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.delawareonline.com\/article\/20120909\/NEWS\/309090044\/O-Donnell-revisits-witch-thing-Maher-accepts-apology?odyssey=mod%7Cnewswell%7Ctext%7CHome%7Cs\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><em>\u201cI don\u2019t agree with your ideas but it shouldn\u2019t have hung on that stupid witch thing.\u201d<\/em><\/a>\u00a0O\u2019Donnell, for her part, admitted that some of the damage was self-inflicted, and that she may run for office again in the future.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">That\u2019s it for now, have a great day!
