In America,\u00a0today is Memorial Day<\/a>, a federal holiday that recognizes those who have died in the service of our military forces.\u00a0For decades<\/a> modern Pagan military personnel\u00a0have worked<\/a> to see that their contributions and sacrifices\u00a0were given equal honor and recognition<\/a>. Today, Pagan involvement in our armed forces\u00a0is at a level of visibility and acceptance never before imagined<\/a>, though with that recognition comes new\u00a0challenges<\/a>. While we work to continue our advances, let\u2019s take a moment to recognize the fallen.<\/p>\n

AFGHANISTAN: Operation Enduring Freedom<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sgt. Patrick Dana Stewart of Fernley, Nevada.
\nNevada Army National Guard. Killed in action, died September 25, 2005, age 34.
\nCremains scattered September 25, 2006, Nevada Highlands, Nevada.
\nSome cremains buried May 28, 2007, Circle Cemetery, near Barneveld, Wisconsin.<\/p>\n

IRAQ: Operation Iraqi Freedom<\/strong><\/p>\n

Spc. James W. Price of Cleveland, Tennessee.
\nUS Army. Killed in action, died September 18, 2004, age 22.
\nBuried in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Cleveland, Tennessee.<\/p>\n

Pfc. Stephen P. Snowberger, III of Lopez, Pennsylvania.
\nUS Army. Killed in action, died May 11, 2006, age 18.
\nBuried in Brown Family Cemetery, Lexington, North Carolina.<\/p>\n

Sgt. Jason Alan Schumann of Hawley, Minnesota.
\nUS Army. Killed in action, died May 19, 2007, age 23.
\nBuried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minnesota.<\/p>\n

Spc. Charles Thomas Heinlein, Jr. of Hemlock, Michigan.
\nUS Army. Killed in action, died July 31, 2007, age 23.
\nBuried in Section 60, Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.<\/p>\n

Pfc. Juctin R. P. McDaniel of Andover, New Hampshire.
\nUS Army. Died December 17, 2007, age 19.
\nBuried in New Hampshire State Cemetery, New Hampshire.<\/p>\n

Sgt. Michael Bramer of Fayetteville, North Carolina.
\nUS Army (2001-2006). Severe head injuries in combat in October, 2003.
\nDied in California of injuries on January 17, 2007, age 23.
\nBuried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Bath, Maine.<\/p>\n

The modern military experience can also be a modern Pagan experience, those who are wounded and die in our country\u2019s service aren\u2019t an anonymous \u201cother\u201d removed from our experiences,\u00a0but us<\/a>.\u00a0We here at\u00a0The Wild Hunt<\/em> give honor to all our Pagan brothers and sisters who have served, are serving, and have fallen in the line of duty.
