Portland Woman Faces Severe Backlash After Her Racist Rant Goes Viral September 14, 2018

A woman in Oregon is going viral for all the wrong reasons. On Wednesday, Selina Cairel uploaded a video to her friends. The video is less than 30 seconds, but the damage is done. The woman, in a white car, makes racist comments about the legal citizenship status of Selina, a woman of Asian descent. The video stats of this morning show more than 1.4 million views.

In the post from Facebook, Selina says, “It started when she had said in the most demeaning Poor excuse of a supposed “Asian” accent that “She’s Asian, she can’t see that’s why she can’t drive.” I was parked next to her, and I did not instigate this at all. She was the one to pull out her phone first saying “ this should go on Instagram” and started recording me.

Selina further explained that she had just returned to her car after picking donuts from a local shop. She went on to say, ” I never let this pass and wanna make sure this kind of behavior is seen and how people of color encounter this all the time. I wanna make sure she gets seen, and her racist, ignorant behavior is exposed.”

In the video, the woman says to the Selina, “Before you say anything you might want to make sure you’re actually legals, and then I’mma call the cops and let them know.”

Selina asks the woman for clarification, and she responds, “That you’re illegals crossing the border and your parents probably had to work for f’ing dirt just to get here.”

Selina’s friends quickly identified the woman in the video. Sierra Dawn Measselle’s name was called out by numerous commenters. One comment by Alexander Young noted that Measelle got blacklisted from working in her industry as a stripper and lost her job. Sierra also deleted her Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Additional commenters pulled up her criminal history that showed charges for drug possession and her mug shot:

A local news station out of Portland, reports that the woman now has fled the city due to the extreme backlash.

Her mother told KOIN Portland that she is “very sorry” and she realizes she “made a mistake.” As if it matters, the mother went on to say her daughter is a Native American descent from a tribe in Alaska. I am not sure her nationality justifies her racist comments, mom. But, whatever.

Additionally, the woman’s former employer got into the mix and was forced to make a statement regarding her racist rant. Apparently, the woman formally worked as a stripper at Stars Cabaret Bridgeport. Management from the club released a statement to KOIN. Club manager Rany Kaiser said she hadn’t worked there for more than six months.

He continued, “Anybody who’s associated with conduct that’s embarrassing to the club and contrary to our beliefs, they would no longer be associated with the club. In America, people have a right to be ignorant. We have the right to not associate with that. And she can be a racist somewhere else.”

A word to the wise, be careful what you say out in public. Everyone has a camera, and hate speech is an easy target for shareable content. Hate speech of any kind has no place in our society. Unfortunately, Sierra is learning the hard way that there are consequences for the words you chose.

For everyone wondering, Selina posted a picture of her passport hours later to prove her legal citizenship. She captioned it, “Promise I’m legal, guys.”

  • The most delicious irony of this whole matter is that she lost her job as a stripper because of her poor judgment. That just kills me.

  • I know! I was going to expand on that – but it speaks for itself!

  • Am I alone in thinking doxxing this person and causing them to lose employment is a wee tad disproportionate?

  • WallofSleep

“As if it matters, the mother went on to say her daughter is a Native American descent from a tribe in Alaska.”

Probably a variation of the canard “She can’t be racist, she’s not white.”

  • Totally!

  • I do think some things go to far. But according to the strip club she hadn’t worked their for months

  • Scout Kent

Not really. If you don’t want to endanger your job, don’t go on racist rants in public and threaten to call the police on people because they don’t look white enough. Things have to change, and maybe the almighty dollar will have an effect on people. This isn’t some 70-something person saying something insensitive in private; it’s a young lady who has grown up in the 21st century acting like a racist ass in public.

I will admit to being fairly amused that a STRIP CLUB doesn’t want to be associated with her.

  • I found that part kind of funny too.

  • kaydenpat

Only Trump can get away with public racism without losing his job. Everyone else, be careful what you say in public. You’re not Trump.

  • If you say so. I do think it’s a very elitist attitude to say that strippers are so low on the totem pole that it’s surprising that they have standards and ethics. But that’s another discussion.

  • This is the best comment all day!

  • Scout Kent

I didn’t say I was surprised that strippers have standards and ethics, I said I was amused that the *strip club* had standards (I’m not really giving them credit for ethics).

  • That was what I agreed with too. Most club owners I’ve know have been less than reputable

It’s not actually racism, but lateral violence, and I doubt she knows anything about, or partakes in, the culture, making her just another white gurl with ‘some NDN blood”.

Patton Oswalt shared a similar sentiment back at the beginning of Trump’s Reign of Whatever the Fuck This Is:

The main thing that Trump supporters are excited about, now that he’s president? Is that finally, at LOOOOOONG LAST, all of the awful things they want to say, that used to lose them friends and jobs and marriages? They’re EXCITED about potentially getting to say them with ZERO repercussions. Just like Trump did. All the way into the White House. All the way into unlimited, forever power to spew any awful shit that comes to your head and no one dares correct you, rolls their eyes, or punches you in the nose.

But I’m afraid Peoria Realtor is going to be the first in a long line of Trumpers who will realize, on the other side of firings and divorces and black eyes, that Trump’s Teflon Umbrella covers Trump and no one else.

His cabinet and staff are going to learn that as well.

Nice powers of prediction as well.

Maybe stories like this end up improving the image of some aspects of the sex industry.

  • Maybe! Good point!

“We elected Trump to get you liberals.”

They call themselves “Evangelical Conservatives” but the Trumpanzees are neither of those things. They are angry, angry people who, however, usually can’t display this because their jobs depend on them making some effort to suck up their rage and pretend to be decent. They love Trump because as a rich asshole he can be the bully they want to be. He can behave recklessly, stupidly, he can lie blatantly, he can use vituperative language, even redefining words (like “fake news”) to have different meanings, he can use insults without justification and be the bigot they are inside.

For the males, the fact that he has banged porn stars and Playboy models is a plus in their eyes – they wish they could do as much. He really is their god.

  • Trump has made America worse

  • kaydenpat

    Oswalt is a prophet then.

  • He is really good stuff! Plus his comedy is hilarious

#racistlivesmatter ????? Yeah, while I don’t wish death on them, the community should be made aware and if people choose not to associate with her that is their choice. I would want to know if one my employees were acting on in a manner that would cause me to lose business no matter what the business were to be. If you don’t want to lose your job, don’t act in a manner that will cause you to lose it.

  • Jennifer Vapes

and I just wouldn’t want such a scuzzbucket around anyways! Strippers are not hard to come by.

  • lejaune

Some of my best friends are strippers. LOL.

  • John

I’ll refer to original dictionary meaning and not the hate-filled communist liberal version(s) of what racism is or who can be a racist. http://www.neal.is/blogging/reverse-racism-being-white-in-asia

  • John

America, unfortunately, has taken in 14X more people, mostly colored, than any-other-country. Yet, you come here to call us racist? Go the fuck home….NOW! As for race-baiting while liberals, I grant full abortion privileges. Do white people go to China and shout ‘racism.’ No, and the reason should be self-explanatory for non-idiots.

  • John

Obama, the race-baiter in Chief started all this.

  • XORY

Exactly. As if becoming a corporate manager or CEO who enslaves foreign workers being let go for a “lack of good judgement” due to, lets say, a sexual harrassment suit isn’t ironic??

Taking the shaming of sex workers as a given.

If we rank sex workers and exotic dancers on the harm they cause others they wouldnt rank at the bottom of the totem pole, Bezos et al would.

  • XORY

As compared to: Clarence Thomas? Jeff Bezos? Ted Kennedy? Bill Clinton? Donald Trump?

  • I’m definitely interested to hear more about what Amazon has been doing. Now that I’ve seen they retail harmful products for children – I really want to find a way to fight their retail practices.

  • Oh I’m not comparing them to politicians. We do have a mobster as our president

I recently closed my account with them. Did you know that you, as an adult, have to ASK THEIR PERMISSION TO CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT? I shop for the best deal. I don’t have a lot of money to spend. I want ONE item at the best price, but with Amazon, I can only get that price if I spend a lot more…as an add-on, or subscribe to Prime, otherwise, they’ll add on a lot of shopping, tax, and fees to add up to what they demand I spend. Sorry…got the very same item for less than half the price…sadly, at WalMart. I was able to order it online and have it delivered to the store, since I had to be in the area anyway. Nearest WalMart is 30+ miles. My thyroid supplement? Nearly $20 on Amazon with all the added fees. WalMart? Free shipping right to my mailbox. Sad, but, with my income, I gotta do what I gotta do to stay afloat…which sometimes means supporting a company I don’t agree with.

  • Yeah, I shop Walmart prices against Amazon a lot – and Walmart wins. – a lot.
