Jill Dillard Slams Same Sex Marriage After Backlash for Promoting Kama Sutra July 3, 2019

Jill Dillard is opening up about her sex life online, and slamming individuals that engage in “homosexual” relationships. Last week Dillard told her 1.6 million Instagram followers that she and her husband practiced Kama Sutra on their anniversary.

On Instagram, Dillard posted a photo of herself with her husband, Derek. The couple took the picture while they spent the weekend away in Branson, MO, for their anniversary. Dillard wrote,

“We had a wonderful 5yr. anniversary weekend in Branson, MO! We stayed at a bed and breakfast, then hung out at Silver Dollar City part of the time and saw our friends @southernraisedbandmusic perform.
.
. Derick surprised me with an amazing dinner (& lovely view!) @thekeetercenter at #collegeoftheozarks  (highly recommend! Such a neat place! ) #hardworku @sierrasaffle .
. .
Thanks @datingdivas for the fun games and ideas! If you don’t know about them, check them out!! They’ve got lots of fun, clean, date/marriage tips and ideas! ❤️”

A black and white photo that showed a photo of a Kama Sutra book and bedroom games raised the eyebrows of many fans. Kama Sutra is an ancient Indian book on sexuality, eroticism, and emotional fulfillment. The book includes tips on living but also provides advice on sex and sexual positions. Additionally, the book is rooted in the Hindu faith.

Due to Dillard’s extreme Christian faith, many fans appeared outraged that she would promote a Hindu text. Comments on the photo included a mix of anger about her use of the book and the fact that she overshared about her sex life online.

As backlash mounted, Dillard edited the post to provide a clarification related to the Kama Sutra book. Dillard insisted the book was a cleaner version of the original text. Additionally, she noted that their book did not include any content related to homosexuality, spiritual teachings, or extramarital relationships.  She reminded fans that she and Derek filter everything the lens of the Bible.

“We are not recommending the Kama Sutra. We believe marriage is ordained by God and husbands and wives should filter everything they read and hear together through the lense of the Bible and not practice anything unbiblical. The little book pictured is a modern, smaller, cleaner, edited version that doesn’t focus on spiritual aspects, homosexual, or other extramarital relationships, and again, we don’t take everything in there either as the truth.”

After she finished her explanation about the book, Dillard took a side step and addressed Biblical marriage. She reinforced her outdated belief with fans that marriage should only be between a man and a woman.

“We’ve not read the actual Kama Sutra and only promote biblical marriage (i.e. between a man and woman who are married). We just wanted to clarify since there has been a lot of discussion after this post.”

Despite her attempt to clear the air, many people felt her explanation made the situation worse. Fans slammed Dillard for her homophobic view on marriage. Additionally, people spoke out defending same-sex marriage.

While many seemed surprised about Dillard’s statement, her opinion about same-sex marriage is in line with her fundamental Christian beliefs.

Additionally, her husband Derek Dillard has been outspoken on social media about his belief that homosexuality is wrong. TLC fired him from “Counting On” after he attacked Jazz Jennings and TLC for normalizing transgender people.

The Dillards are part of the Quiverfull movement that believes homosexuality is a sin. Parents send their LGBTQ+ children to camps to teach them to not give in to their same-sex desires. In fact, Jill’s parents sent her sibling Josiah to Alert Academy for his rumored same-sex desires.

Jill Dillard wants fans to see her as a modern Christian wife by opening up about her sexlife. However, her strict faith will always keep her locked into toxic beliefs that sexual desires beyond a heterosexual framework are wrong.

Rather than fans being surprised, they should recognize Dillard for the person she is in reality. Dillard is a woman that believes women should be subservient to men, marital rape, suppressing her needs and wants, and that same-sex marriages are wrong.

Biblical marriage was often polygamous. But, anyway…

  • Martin Penwald

only promote biblical marriage (i.e. between a man and woman who are married).

What does she mean, here? That marriage can only occur between a man and a woman who are already married? So two unmarried people cannot get married, then. How does that work?

The kids were homeschooled and homechurched. If it weren’t for autocorrect, I’m sure her posts would be even worse.

It’s not healthy to be so obsessed with what other people do in the privacy of their bedrooms.

  • Polygynous, more accurately. One man, and as many wives/slaves as he wanted.

……. and strangely enough a lot of evangelicals (especially preachers) seem totally more obsessed with gay sex than gay people actually are!!!!
