Steve Garber\u2019s new<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Visions-Vocation-Common-Grace-Good\/dp\/0830836667\/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1416846477&amp;sr=1-1&amp;keywords=visions+of+vocation\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><em> Visions of Vocation<\/em><\/a> is more involved, but also more narrative \u2013 likely especially appealing\/useful for millennials or at least younger Christians. It may be too long to read for a small group study \u2013 more a resource book or something for a leader to read and choose from judiciously.<\/p>\n<p><em>God at Work<\/em> by Gene Veith is a slim volume that might be helpful. Lester De Koster also has a slim volume, from a Reformed perspective: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Work-Meaning-Your-Lester-DeKoster-ebook\/dp\/B003XF238Q\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1416844600&amp;sr=8-1&amp;keywords=lester+dekoster\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><em>Work: The Meaning of Your Life<\/em><\/a>. The Acton Institute series of short videos, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.letterstotheexiles.com\/flow-anyway\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">For The Life of the World<\/a>,<\/em> is very good \u2013 an absorbing experience that should generate a lot of conversation. Also best for millennials, but accessible for all ages. It comes with a study guide and may be purchased in many forms, including download, or even rented.<\/p>\n<p>I highly recommend a two-part video documentary I helped secure funding for, and have had a hand in scripting and editing: <em><a href=\"http:\/\/goingonvocation.com\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Going On Vocation<\/a>. <\/em>It is advertised on the back cover of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianhistoryinstitute.org\/uploaded\/541874f0cb26d7.96419252.pdf\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">the <em>Christian History<\/em> magazine Vocation issue<\/a>, which is another excellent resource for such a group as yours. Click the link in the preceding sentence for a full-color downloadable pdf of the issue; if you go to the main level of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianhistoryinstitute.org\/magazine\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">www.christianhistorymagazine.org<\/a> you can also find it in online flipbook format under \u201cback issues.\u201d They can also be purchased hard copy in \u201cbulk\u201d \u2013 including smaller orders. <span id=\"more-5612\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Finally, a <a title=\"Books on vocation, calling, work, and jobs. And we mean LOTS of books.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/workcited\/2015\/09\/books-on-vocation-calling-work-and-jobs-and-we-mean-lots-of-books\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">wonderful annotated bibliography of books on vocation<\/a> is provided online by Byron Borger of Hearts and Minds Books. Despite the fact that I link the above titles to Amazon, I encourage you to buy any or all of these resources from Byron.
