Emperor Asoka\u00a0built\u00a0the first temple at this site in the 3rd century,CE and this temple was built in the 5th or 6th century.<\/p>\n

Now a group of people, including the king of Thailand, want to cover the dome with 660 pounds of gold that they plan to donate. What would would the Buddha think? \u00a0That\u2019s what many Buddhists, including the Dalai Llama, are now asking, according this article in the Huffington Post.<\/a><\/p>\n
