Want to learn more about Buddhism? Here\u2019s a very readable book by Pankaj Mishr<\/a>a. His book is called \u201cAn end to Suffering: The Buddha in the World,\u201d It is more than just a biography. \u00a0As one reviewer noted, it \u201cis part biography, part history, part travel book, part philosophic treatise.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mishra is not a Buddhist<\/a> himself. He could not sit long enough to meditate but he did live in a small Himalayan village where he researched and wrote much of the book. \u00a0Mishra\u2019s Buddha was not a prophet or religious figure, writes a NY Times reviewer,<\/a> but a secular one.<\/p>\n
