It celebrates the story of how the Buddha gained enlightenment and allows those seeking enlightenment today to think about the meaning of that path.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Buddhists celebrate it in different ways in different counties. In Thailand, for example, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/religion\/religions\/buddhism\/holydays\/wesak.shtml\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">the BBC says <\/a>that people make special lanterns and in some ceremonies even release caged birds.
