The mosque was built during the reign of Sultan S\u00fcleyman known as S\u00fcleyman the Magnificent. The Sultan hired the architect, Mimar Sinan<\/a>, to design the mosque in which you can see both Islamic and Byzantine influences.<\/p>\n

The tour includes several speakers who review the significant architectural details inside and outside of the mosque.<\/p>\n

The tour is part of the magazine, Aramco World<\/a>, which features Arab and Islamic culture, also includes walking tours of the Alhambra Mosque<\/a> in Spain and the Dome of the Rock<\/a> in Jerusalem.<\/p>\n
