In the NPR clip below, Crumb\u00a0notes that it\u2019s\u00a0 a \u201cvicious story\u201d \u00a0that includes violence, nastiness, with people in a position of power ruling elites who derive pleasure from inflicting pain and suffering on other humans.\u201d<\/p>\n
The illustrations show all that and Crumb even included a warning on the cover that the contents might not be\u00a0suitable for all audiences.<\/p>\n
The book was released six years ago and NPR reviewed it in the clip below.<\/p>\n
Many museums exhibited the book including the Hammer Museum in Los Angles<\/a>. The page for the exhibit includes a slideshow that takes you through some of the illustrated pages of the book.<\/p>\nThe\u00a0Los Angeles Times has an excellent story about the comic book called,\u00a0The creation of R.
