The Bridge initiative<\/a> at Georgetown University\u2019s Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding chronicles public instances of Islamopohobia. It\u2019s website defines Islamophobia and publishes infographics about it. For example, you can see one here\u00a0 that maps attacks on Muslims<\/a>.<\/p>\n
But the accounts of Islmamophobia in the 2016 presidential campaign<\/a> are the most interesting part of Bridge\u2019s website. The authors compile public statements that exhibit some form of anti-Muslim rhetoric. Put together, these statements, mostly from Donald Trump, paint a disturbing picture.<\/p>\n
Here, for example, is a summary list of those statements which I copied from Bridge:<\/p>\n

Trump calls for ban on Muslim immigration<\/li>\n
Trump refuses to challenge anti-Muslim supporter<\/li>\n
Trump says US is at war with\u00a0Islam (later changes his mind)<\/li>\n
On\u00a0O\u2019Reilly show, Trump says \u201cthere is a Muslim problem worldwide\u201d<\/li>\n
In 2011, Trump told Fox News that he supports Representative Peter King\u2019s hearings on the radicalization of American Muslims<\/li>\n
Trumps says that he would close some Muslim mosques to fight ISIS<\/li>\n
In November, Trump told MSNBC that it\u2019s a good idea to spy on and watch American mosques<\/li>\n
Trump suggests that databases and \u201cother systems\u201d are necessary to fight terrorism<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Congressman Mike Honda explains the Bridge Initiative in this congratulatory message to the group.<\/p>\n
