A number of nationalist organizations came together under one umbrella called <a href=\"http:\/\/berkleycenter.georgetown.edu\/resources\/organizations\/sangh-parivar\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\">Sangh Parivar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Rashtriya Swayamsevak or RSS, is the most important organization of the Sangh and Narenda Modi\u2019s party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is also a member of the Sangh.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.economist.com\/blogs\/economist-explains\/2014\/05\/economist-explains-8?fsrc=scn\/tw\/te\/bl\/ee\/hindunationalimeans\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">According to the Economis<\/a>t, Modi defines Hindutva more as a way of life, rather than a religion.\u00a0 That\u2019s a problem for religious minorities in India like Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians. \u201cIf your fatherland is India but your holy land is Mecca,\u201d notes the Economist, \u201cthen you are something less than wholly Hindu, and less than wholly Indian.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>And this is why minorities are nervous about Modi\u2019s election.
