\u00a0Fraternal Correction<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Ah! there are untamed spirits, rough and rude,
\nRugged as unwrought iron, unsubdued
\nTill fire hath filled it with a glowing heat\u2014
\nAnd love alone with such souls can compete.
\nBut, soon as love hath made these souls less like
\nTheir wretched self, some deem it time to strike\u2014
\nUnskilful smiths! they only beat the mass
\nInto its own cold hardness\u2014while, alas!
\nHad they loved on, and not been violent,
\nHow easily the stubborn had been bent!
\nReproof that irritates, and frequent test
\nMake untried tempers brittle at the best\u2014
\nMorose and murmuring, instead of gay,
\nFor perseverance less and less they pray\u2014
\nTill, finally, it needs but one blow more
\nTo strew the shivered fragments on the floor.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
