Recently, I wrote a piece on Pandora Radio,<\/a> a Web service that allows you to create your own personal \u201cradio stations\u201d tailored to your musical taste. I posted a link to \u201cBingen Radio\u201d on our FaceBook Fan Page, and I invite you to check that out. Now let me pose a question: What music, liturgical or non-liturgical, inspires you<\/i> as a Catholic or non-Catholic?<\/p>\n

<\/a>I\u2019m prompted to post this question thanks to a couple of reader comments. In particular:<\/p>\n

\u201cJames\u201d offered some personal favorites: Nearly all Gregorian chant (\u201chaving sung in a Cathedral choir as a boy\u201d), Henryk Gorecki\u2019s \u201cMisere\u201d and his Third Symphony (\u201ca musical response to the Holocaust\u201d), and also the soundtrack to \u201cInto Great Silence.\u201d (The picture is Gorecki, not James.)<\/p>\n

When I responded by saying that I found this Gloria especially beautiful (I\u2019m also partial to the \u201cHeritage\u201d Gloria, which we sing in our choir<\/a>), S. replied with a longer list\u2014<\/p>\n
