Have you ever asked your mom to pray for you? I have. And one of the truly amazing graces is that as a believer in the Communion of the Saints, I can ask the Mother of our Lord and Savior to pray for me as well.<\/p>\n

Everyone who has seen any Hollywood movie knows the Hail Mary<\/em>.<\/em> But I\u2019d like to share a lesser known prayer request that we may also direct to The Blessed Virgin.<\/p>\n

Alma Redemptoris Mater<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Revered Mother of our Redeemer,<\/div>\n
the way to heaven for us now and always,<\/div>\n
come to our help as we fall and strive to rise.<\/div>\n
All nature stood still in wonder<\/div>\n
when you gave flesh<\/div>\n
to your own flesh\u2019s Creator.<\/div>\n
Virgin at Gabriel\u2019s greeting,<\/div>\n
Virgin now and always<\/div>\n
take pity on us sinners.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

To wrap up this post on this, the Feast of the Annunciation of the Lord<\/a>, how about some verse that\u2019s a bit more secular? After all, it\u2019s a Monday so surely there is an appropriate song I can dig up to share.<\/p>\n

And lookee here! I found one that works well for the purposes of celebrating the free will answer of Our Lady. The official story on this \u201cprayer\u201d is that Paul McCartny wrote it about his mom. I can believe that, but I can also believe that it is written about the New Eve.<\/p>\n
