That\u2019s the thought that occurred to me when I was reading the Satanic Temple\u2019s mission statement. You know, the folks behind the statue of a figure (that might be Baphomet) they want to install at the state capitol in Oklahoma, and the same group that wants to hold a Black Mass in a pub under the auspices of the Harvard Extension Cultural Studies Club.<\/p>\n

The mission of The Satanic Temple is to encourage benevolence and empathy among all people.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We\u2019re supposed to believe that Satan stands for truth, justice, and the American way, too. And we\u2019re supposed to believe that the guys behind the Satanic Temple aren\u2019t really Satanists either, right? They are really atheists that just want to sell t-shirts and coffee mugs<\/a>, and say things like what Sam Elliot is seeing right through.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not sure why the folks at Harvard want to be associated with a Black Mass<\/a>, but let me answer my own question in the title. When did Satan become a square that believes in selflessness, benevolence, compassion, and wisdom? Since he was thrown out of heaven, that\u2019s when. Since he thought it would help him to convince you that he isn\u2019t real, even though he actually is.<\/p>\n

Um, I\u2019m saying he isn\u2019t square. Squaring a circle? That\u2019s his game.<\/p>\n

In other words, the Father of Lies is lying again, and hoping you don\u2019t notice. But don\u2019t for a second believe that the Satanic Temple are a bunch of poseurs who don\u2019t believe in the Devil.<\/p>\n
