Yep.<\/p>\n

Where was Joe Six-Pack, USMC? What was he doing? Did he write the Great American Novel, or something?<\/p>\n

He was around. He was doing things. He didn\u2019t write a single line.<\/p>\n

But that\u2019s already changed, as I\u2019m banging out post, after post, after post\u2026<\/p>\n

Well, not really. It\u2019s not my style to write stuff in advance. It never was. All those years where I was posting something every single day? They were all done on a whim, dear reader. A whim, and a prayer. And that\u2019s how it will continue.<\/p>\n

During my hiatus, though, I thought (and prayed) about what it is that I should be doing in this space. I\u2019m not saying stone tablets came done from Heaven with any definitive directives, but one commandment popped into my noggin, and I promise not to violate it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThou shalt not post anything that is longer than 666 words.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hmmmm. Trying not to concentrate on the significance of that number (I mean it is what comes after 665, and before 667, see?), I got the point. Keep it brief, and to the point.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll be doing my best to do what Blaise Pascal said took more time, to wit,<\/p>\n
