\u201cCrazy\u201d must run in the Paul family or something. Or is that \u201ckeraaayyyzy?\u201d Either way, it\u2019s probably a good thing. You know, back on Saturday, the Gospel Reading was one of the shortest you\u2019ll ever hear being read at mass. It was from Mark\u2019s Gospel. Did you see it? <\/p>\n

Jesus came with his disciples into the house. Again the crowd gathered, making it impossible for them even to eat. When his relatives heard of this they set out to seize him, for they said, \u201cHe is out of his mind.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Folks thought Our Lord was loopy too, see. And not just the rank and file folks, but his own extended family. They thought Jesus had gone batty. Back to the Paul family, crazy may run through their genes, or maybe it\u2019s just common sense. Because this morning, while hundreds of thousands of our citizens will peacefully march in support of life today in Washington D.C., I saw that Senator Rand Paul is asking folks to sign a petition that has the following \u201ccrazy\u201d resolutions,<\/p>\n

Life at Conception Act Petition
\nto: Your U.S. Senators and Representative<\/p>\n

Whereas: Because of Roe v. Wade, more than 56 million unborn children have died through abortion; and<\/p>\n

Whereas: In Roe v. Wade, the U.S. Supreme Court declared it could not resolve \u201cthe difficult question of when life begins\u201d \u2013 and on the basis of this unresolved question, declared a new \u201cright to abortion\u201d based on a \u201cright of privacy\u201d; and<\/p>\n

Whereas: The 14th Amendment to the Constitution states: \u201cnor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty or property, without due process of law, nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the law\u201d; and<\/p>\n

Whereas: In Roe, the Supreme Court admitted: \u201cIf . . . personhood [for the unborn] is established, the appellant\u2019s case, of course, collapses, for the fetus\u2019 right to life is then guaranteed specifically by the [Fourteenth] Amendment\u2026\u201d (Roe v. Wade [410 US 113 at 156-7]); and<\/p>\n

Whereas: Science is clear that human life begins at conception when a new human being is formed<\/strong>; and<\/p>\n

Whereas: The American people oppose abortion-on-demand and want innocent human life to be protected especially when it is most defenseless; and<\/p>\n

Whereas: It belongs to Congress to resolve the question the Supreme Court said IT cannot resolve; and<\/p>\n

Whereas: A Life at Conception Act, by declaring that unborn children are persons legally entitled to constitutional protection, will rescue millions of unborn children from dying by abortion-on-demand;<\/p>\n

Therefore: I urge you to cosponsor and cast every vote for a Life at Conception Act, and to do everything necessary to win ultimate passage in the United States Congress.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yes, way back in the dark ages of 1973, scientists weren\u2019t quite sure when life begins. Now we have the technology to know better. Think and pray about the resolutions outlined above. Then go sign the petition at the National Pro-Life Alliance website<\/a> that supports this act. While you\u2019re at it, send your Congressional Representatives your thoughts as well at endroe.net<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking about \u201ccrazy\u201d Rand Paul, it appears that the TSA has detained Senator Paul because of a problem when he walked through the full-body scanner at the airport in Nashville TN. Maybe that is because he was crazy enough to say things like this,<\/p>\n

More crazy talk. Of course, he was on his way to Washington D.C. to speak at the March for Life<\/a>.<\/p>\n
