Today I\u2019m going to do the same.<\/p>\n<p>It seems Professor George really wanted to be known as a poet and he wrote a good number of poems and sonnets, which were published by the <i>Herbert S. Stone &amp; Company<\/i> publishing house. I \u201cdiscovered\u201d his poem <i>The Hermit of Carmel <\/i>yesterday and I am amazed by it. I \u00a0added it to the <i><a href=\"http:\/\/books.google.com\/books?id=4WYHyJKL48MC&amp;lr=\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">YIMCatholic Bookshelf<\/a> <\/i>without hesitation<i>.<\/i><br>\n<a name=\"more\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a><br>\nI\u2019m no poetry critic, because I don\u2019t know poetry enough to criticize it. I only know what I like and can understand, and what I think is good.\u00a0Below I\u2019m sharing with you a taste of Professor George\u2019s artistic ability from his poem\u00a0<i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.archive.org\/details\/lucifertheological00santrich\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Lucifer: A Theological Tragedy.<\/a><\/i><\/p>\n<p>Published in 1899, this poem opened to mixed reviews. It was viewed favorably <a href=\"http:\/\/books.google.com\/books?id=JLUvAAAAYAAJ&amp;dq=Lucifer%3A%20A%20Theological%20Tragedy&amp;pg=PA573#v=onepage&amp;q=Lucifer:%20A%20Theological%20Tragedy&amp;f=false\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">by Christian critics<\/a>, and less favorably <a href=\"http:\/\/books.google.com\/books?id=ttzhAAAAMAAJ&amp;dq=Lucifer%3A%20A%20Theological%20Tragedy&amp;pg=PA1959#v=onepage&amp;q=Lucifer:%20A%20Theological%20Tragedy&amp;f=false\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">by secular ones<\/a>.Tongue firmly in cheek, \u00a0I wonder why? I\u2019ll give you a taste of his ability via two speeches. The senses brief deceit.<br>\nWhat happiness ? The slavery to greed.<br>\nWhat art ? An echo and a paltry cheat.<br>\nWhat God ?
