My Facebook page and Twitter feed are still clogged with people fuming over Phil Robertson\u2019s suspension.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m guessing yours is the same.<\/p>\n

The anger seems to be split between \u201cHe\u2019s defending Christian values!\u201d and \u201cIt\u2019s a freedom of speech issue!\u201d<\/p>\n

Except in all caps, of course.<\/p>\n

Since, I don\u2019t think either statement is true and since I\u2019m tired of dear old Phil being held up as a martyr for Christian virtue, I thought I would offer a compromise by way of a challenge to my\u00a0Christian friends still fuming about Phil.<\/p>\n

If you can pass The Phil Robertson Challenge\u2122\u00a0your prize is my silence. Post away all you want on my Facebook page or here or on Twitter or wherever about the injustice and persecution Phil is enduring for the Christian faith or free speech or whatever and I won\u2019t keep arguing with you.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s how the challenge works\u2026<\/p>\n

Below is a direct quote from Phil\u2019s now infamous interview with GQ<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

If you can successfully defend the substance of what he\u2019s saying from a Christian perspective and not sound racist<\/strong><\/em>, you win.<\/p>\n

Good luck with that\u2026.<\/p>\n

\u201cI never, with my eyes, saw the mistreatment of any black person. Not once. Where we lived was all farmers. The blacks worked for the farmers. I hoed cotton with them.
