It\u2019s been a while since I ran two posts in one day, but this one couldn\u2019t wait to \u2019till Monday.<\/p>\n

According to its Indigogo page<\/a>, The McMass Project (founded by Paul Di Lucca) wants to combine a church and a McDonald\u2019s in order to\u00a0\u201ccreate a self-sustaining, community-engaged, popular church, and an unparalleled McDonald\u2019s restaurant.\u201d<\/p>\n

They\u2019ve got lots of apparel related incentives for those willing to contribute to their effort to raise $1,000,000 in the next 50 days.<\/p>\n

Sounds, um, interesting.<\/p>\n

But I\u2019m gonna go out on a limb and guess that this is satire. Obviously, they\u2019re really raising money (and if it is satire, who knows where it would go\u2026charity maybe?), but aside from the fact that $1,000,000 wouldn\u2019t actually get you very far<\/a> if you wanted to start a McDonald\u2019s franchise, this just reeks of being commentary on the commercialization of religion (or perhaps our religious devotion to cheap, fast food).<\/p>\n

Not that I think that\u2019s a bad thing.<\/p>\n

Unless they pocket the money they raise, I would personally find this to be a pretty humorous critique of American Christianity (or American culinary habits for that matter).<\/p>\n

But if it is real, I\u2019ve got just one question.<\/p>\n

Actually, I\u2019ve got several, but one really important question.<\/p>\n

If I go to this McDonalds\u2019s whenever it gets built, will I get a discount for bringing in my church bulletin?<\/p>\n
