Last week Ken Ham, the founder and president of Answers in Genesis<\/a>, announced his group\u2019s next project- Ark Encounter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ham is probably best known for doing his part to promote a literal reading of the book of Genesis. \u00a0In 2007, he opened up the Creation Museum<\/a>\u2013 a shrine dedicated to all things young-earth. \u00a0 \u00a0 The Ark Encounter promises to have, among other things, a full scale replica of Noah\u2019s Ark- complete with petting zoo. \u00a0The formal announcement (video below) was made by Kentucky governor Steve Beshear, who seems mostly excited about the\u00a0economic\u00a0possibilities.<\/p>\n<\/iframe>\n<p>There have been a variety of good and bad responses to the announcement, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.internetmonk.com\/archive\/the-disney-ization-of-faith\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">but one of the more thoughtful ones can be read here<\/a>, as he laments the \u201cdisney-ification\u201d of our faith. \u00a0Take a read.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last week Ken Ham, the founder and president of Answers in Genesis, announced his group\u2019s next project- Ark Encounter.
