Yoga just got a whole lot more pious.<\/p>\n

\u201cHoly Yoga\u201d<\/a> is happening in Redmond Friday and Saturday, part of a weekend workshop event for yogis with Christian convictions.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s on the schedule? I\u2019m so glad you asked.<\/p>\n

Attendees will start out with a \u201cJesus at the Core\u201d Bible study. (Get it? Because yoga is all about engaging your core, right?)<\/p>\n

There\u2019s gentle holy yoga and power holy yoga \u2014 all about encouraging \u201cvictorious living in Christ.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHoly Yoga is a holistic worship experience,\u201d said Brooke Boon, founder of Holy Yoga. \u201cWe use our minds to study and meditate on the word of God, our hearts to listen, our bodies to glorify and our souls to respond to the promptings of His Holy Spirit.\u201d<\/p>\n

The event is happening at the\u00a0Washington Cathedral in Redmond, where pastor Pastor Linda Skinner is a fan. The church hosts weekly holy yoga classes.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe take seriously what God\u2019s Word says to us about our bodies being a temple of the Holy Spirit,\u201d Skinner said in a prepared statement.<\/p>\n

Not everyone in the Christian community is a fan of yoga. Mark Driscoll, pastor of the every-growing Mars Hill Church in Seattle, recently said yoga is \u201cdemonic\u201d and \u201cabsolute paganism.\u201d<\/p>\n
