Usually when we talk about someone being \u201cbeaten over the head with the Bible\u201d, we mean that someone else is holding Bible verses \u201cover their head\u201d in order to condemn them for wrong belief, wrong action, etc.<\/p>\n
In this case, however, someone\u2019s grandmother took that Bible beating idea a little more literally.<\/p>\n
Actually, a lot more literally.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m not sure whether to laugh or cringe. Maybe both?<\/p>\n

MEMPHIS, TN \u2013 (WMC-TV) \u2013 A woman is accused of using God\u2019s word as a weapon against her pastor in their Mid-South church.<\/p>\n
A 63-year-old church member used a Bible to hit the pastor in the head after he told her and other members to leave or he would call the Sheriff.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s got the demon in him,\u201d Ina Garrett said.<\/p>\n
Ina Garrett, a life-long member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Selmer, decided to knock that demon out of pastor Leon Taylor.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne of the older church members came up and struck the pastor with a Bible,\u201d McNairy County Sheriff Guy Buck said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI hit him in the head,\u201d Garrett admitted.<\/p>\n
The sheriff arrested 63-year-old Ina Garrett and charged her with assault.<\/p>\n
The pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church showed us a photo of welts on the side of his head.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvil is evil,\u201d Pastor Leon Taylor said. \u201cYou understand what I\u2019m saying, and bullying is bullying and that\u2019s what they have done.\u201d<\/p>\n
