Who Really Cares? Ordination and Marriage Equality in the Mainline Church

Lisa Larges is the Coordinator of That All May Freely Serve, a grassroots advocacy organization working for the full inclusion and welcome of all who are disenfranchised within the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), especially gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender persons. She's been a candidate for ordination in the Presbyterian Church since 1986, a process that has been stalled because of her identity as a lesbian woman. In 2009, the Presbytery of San Francisco, a regional governing body in the Presbyterian Church, voted to approve Larges' ordination. That decision was challenged, and in the fall of 2010, an appellate court within the Presbyterian Church will hear the case. Larges lives in San Francisco and is a member of Noe Valley Ministry.
