Marco Rubio's parents are Cuban refugees. Marco Rubio attended the University of Florida, and the University of Miami School of Law. He served as a city commissioner, then a Florida state legislator, and is currently a U.S. Senator. While he was raised as a Catholic in his younger years, his parents moved to Nevada when he was still a child. There he was exposed to Mormonism, and was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He later left the LDS church and rejoined the Catholic church. He often attends a Southern Baptist church in Miami, Christ Fellowship.

Marco Rubio's campaign has created a Religious Liberty Advisory Board, which includes Thomas Kidd, Wayne Grudem, Rick Warren, and Samuel Rodriguez, all notable evangelical scholars, pastors, or leaders. Rubio served first as the Speaker of the House for the state of Florida, and then was elected a U.S. Senator from Florida. He is 44 years old.

Rubio is married to Jeanette and they have four children: Amanda, Daniella, Anthony, and Dominic.
