Myth and Religion Seek to Illumine the Same Reality

Intriguingly, the most recent of the world's religions brings us back to an indigenous worldview of oneness. The Baha'i writings say, "The gift of God to this enlightened age is the knowledge of the oneness of mankind and of the fundamental oneness of religion."

If we look at the relationship of myth and religion from this evolutionary perspective, rather than seeing them as separate or hierarchical or privileged in any way, we can see how all forms of myth and religion are parts of an evolving story, a whole system leading ultimately and eventually to a consciousness of harmony, unity, and oneness.

Myth and religion are each a way of getting to know the Sacred, the mysteries that surround us, and our role within it all, each offering its unique contribution to better understanding reality.
