Is there a connection between atheism and autism? About five years ago, a couple of research papers (that received a lot of worldwide attention) found a strong correlation between the two groups. But did autism lead to atheism? Were atheists more likely to be autistic? Did the correlation mean anything?
Thomas Coleman has been studying this subject for several years now as a graduate student in Psychology at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and he recently spoke with the city’s NPR affiliate about the topic:
