Ted Vial has been the associate professor of Theology at Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colo. since 2004. Prior to the Iliff School of Theology, he taught at Virginia Wesleyan College for eight years. Vial teaches the history of modern western religious thought from the Reformation to today. His research centers on early 19th century German thought and its role in shaping what religion is in the modern world, as well as the role that religion plays in modern democracies, the theories and methods in the study of religion, ritual theory, and cognitive science and religion.
