To Heaven and Back
A Doctor's Extraordinary Account of Her Death, Heaven, Angels, and Life Again: A True Story
by Mary C. Neal, M.D.
A kayak accident during a South American adventure takes one woman to Heaven—where she experienced God's peace, joy and angels -- and back to life again.
To Heaven and Back is Mary Neal's remarkable story of her life's spiritual journey and what happened as she moved from life to death to eternal life, and back again.

Read an excerpt from Chapter 9 of To Heaven and Back.
Here is a book that deals with something I think all Christians agree on and yet many of us (Catholic and non) ignore: the spiritual realm, the reality of heaven (which means the reality of hell, though it’s not discussed in this book), and the intertwining of the two.
What sets the book apart from other accounts of near-death experiences is Dr. Neal’s life in Christ. That’s what inspired me.
A worldview of this sort presents many puzzles and seemingly unanswerable questions.
It is rare to read a near death account where someone was not changed profoundly. But the way that change is described, or the meaning one makes from it, differs widely.
