For me, the Johnny Appleseed story is a wonderful example of what it looks like to embrace a God-given vocation.
The one thing that encouraged me was that this book was written by a Swedenborgian scholar, and as such, would hopefully present an accurate picture of Chapman’s faith. And as it turns out, that is the book’s biggest strength.
Johnny Appleseed was a true hero of the American frontier, just as Emmanuel Swedenborg plowed fresh intellectual soil with his work, some four centuries ago.
