In time this turbulent maelstrom of encroaching civilization swept over the lands of the ancient middle east, erasing everything in its path and rebuilding life anew on the remains of the destruction. It is not unlike the way a hard rain in the desert quickly floods the dry and dusty landscape, wipes away the slate of what was there while somehow awakening the slumbering life that is buried underneath. And although the world at this time was teeming with immortal beings of every size and shape, it was not an easy time to be a god. Many of the elder gods, long worshiped and revered, were already disappearing from the memories of man. They faded away as their temples crumbled, their people prostrate beneath the heels of conquering nations. Others, mostly newer gods and more ambitious, rose to take their elders’ place….
