This is LOOOOOOONNNNNNNGGGGGG overdue, but my big sister (Laura Baggett) wrote a book.
It’s good.
It’s short.
It doesn’t take up too much time or clutter (you’ll get why that’s funny when you download and read the book).
It’s a very helpful and strong challenge – especially for people like me who just have a bunch of stuff and don’t want to get rid of it.
It’s called Making Room for Jesus: Getting Rid of Mental, Emotional, Spiritual, and Physical Clutter.
One of my favorite quotes:
So often, when I’m angry or frustrated, it’s not because of what someone else has done –at least not entirely. It’s also because my own failures or perceived failures are being brought to light in some way. If we’re running late, I may be outwardly angry at my children, but inwardly I’m berating myself for not being a better manager of my time. If the house is a mess, I may complain about tasks that others should have done, but inside I’m yelling at myself for not being able to keep it clean on my own.
When we’re upset with someone, it’s a good idea to ask ourselves if the root cause is an expectation that hasn’t been met.
Ouch. But true. . .
You can download it and/or buy a copy here. I promise, I get no royalties from this (trust me, she needs all she can get. . . she got rid of all her stuff and cannot even have a yard sale).
But Thanksgiving and Christmas will be more pleasant if you buy or download a copy.
Seriously, this is a really good, short book that won’t clutter your time while you learn how to declutter your life.
