Those Commie Pinkos

I always got the feeling that liberals in America had far more scorn for their Archie Bunker stereotypes worried about Communism than actual Communism.  And there were more who seemed to be pretty warm to the whole Communist alternative to the evil West.  I knew (and yes, liked) a girl in college who had a giant picture of Lenin in her apartment.  She loved Russia and the whole Bolshevik thing.  Like many who felt similar, she saw all of the unfortunate results of Communism in Russia, China and other nations as the fault of the Evil U.S.A.  Anyway, this little reflection on those hip Communists defenders brought back some memories.  I wonder how prevalent Communism is on campuses today.  FWIW, I’ve learned with hanging around Orthodox Christians not to ever, ever take Communism lightly.  Just don’t do it.
