For our Protestant brothers and sisters

For our Protestant brothers and sisters

A little hopeful nod about the Reformation then and now.  Count me as one who thinks bringing unity back to the Church should be a major goal for all believers.  I stop short of saying anything that brings unity is good because, let’s face it, some attempts to bring unity could be quite bad.  But a step toward unity, however small, can still be hoped for.  One of the greatest stains on the Christian witness has been the manifold layers of division that have occurred over the centuries.  I don’t begrudge my time as a former Protestant, and still see much good that the Protestant traditions bring to the table.  I’ve also learned the richness and goodness of the Orthodox side of the divisions.  My only prayer is that eventually all churches come together to that same unity that Christ so desired.
