As a non-believer, I could never figure out the obsession so many non-believers had with mocking religious people. Most religious people I knew were no worse than the non-religious people I knew. Neither dumber nor meaner. I found both camps capable of providing candidates for those tendencies.
On the other hand, I couldn’t help but notice that when it came to organized aid in times of need, those religious types seemed a tad ahead of us non-believers. Not that we wouldn’t do nice things or help people. But it was seldom as coordinated, reliable, or, in the end, efficient.
