Two weeks in

And I can’t help but think of this scene when I consider the current state of affairs in our country:

Part of the reason is Trump’s insistence on forgoing careful planning in an attempt to make good his promises.  Part of it is Trump talking.  Part is the media’s 24/7 negative spin on all things Trump, even if they have to improvise with details and facts to paint that dim picture.  Part of it is the zealotry of radical anti-Trumpers who shout out the more reasonable critics by declaring each thing Trump does the dawning of the next Holocaust.

A mess.  Ross Douthat shines some light on our situation.

Now if I can find the time, I think I’ll watch the whole movie.  For some reason, I love watching Lawrence of Arabia in the wintertime.
