If four cardinals ask Pope Francis for clarity

If four cardinals ask Pope Francis for clarity

Then I think we can back off when it comes to snickering at the average Jane and Joe Catholic trying to make sense of Amoris Laetetia.  Apparently some Catholics find it impossible to grasp that others might not get certain teachings of the Church, or the latest pronouncements by this or that pope.  Well, I guess some Catholics just aren’t as smart as others.  Or maybe not as obedient.  Or perhaps they don’t love Jesus enough.  In my Protestant days, that was assuming those others just don’t believe the Bible is the Word of God.

Whatever, it’s a way people have of saying ‘case closed, I’m obedient and faithful, and you can agree or not be obedient or faithful.’  I admit that the tendency of some Catholics to act no different than an old stereotypical fundamentalist, replacing the King James with the Catechism, is interesting.  Nonetheless, I think it’s fair to say that some Catholics want to make sure they understand, and for whatever reason, Amoris Laetetia is still presenting more questions than it’s answering.   So ask away.  I’ll assume nothing other than you want to understand.
