God Wants Us to Shine for Justice
God wants us to live in ways that show fairness and kindness to everyone. For example, Micah 6:8 (NKJV) says, “What does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” This verse tells us that fairness is very important to God. Therefore, we should treat others the way we want to be treated. We can show kindness to our family, our friends, and even strangers. When we live like this, we let our light shine for God’s justice and peace.
Helping Those in Need
God also wants us to help people who need food, clothes, and care. For instance, Proverbs 19:17 (NKJV) says, “He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and He will pay back what he has given.” When we help others, God sees our kindness and promises to bless us. Therefore, we should look for ways to help. We can bring extra lunch to school to share with someone who forgot theirs. We can also give clothes we’ve outgrown to those who need them. Every time we help, we show God’s love and shine brightly for Him.
Speak Up for Those Who Cannot
God tells us to speak up for people who have no voice. For example, Proverbs 31:8-9 (NKJV) says, “Open your mouth for the speechless… plead the cause of the poor and needy.” This verse tells us to be brave and do what is right. Therefore, if we see someone being bullied, we can stand up for them. We can also share kind words that make others feel safe and loved. God wants us to use our words to bring peace and justice everywhere we go.
Welcome Everyone with Open Hearts
God loves when we welcome strangers and treat them like family. For instance, Leviticus 19:34 (NKJV) says, “The stranger who dwells among you shall be to you as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself.” This means we should show love to everyone, even if they’re new or different. Therefore, we can smile and say hello to new kids at school. We can also invite them to play with us at recess. When we welcome everyone, we show that God’s family is for all people.
Help the Sick and Hurting
God wants us to care for people who are sick or sad. For example, James 5:14 (NKJV) says, “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him.” We can pray for others and visit them when they don’t feel well. Therefore, we can bring soup to someone who is sick. We can also send a get-well card to cheer them up. These small acts of kindness show God’s love and help others feel His peace.
Be a Peacemaker Every Day
God calls us to be peacemakers who bring calm and hope to others. For example, Matthew 5:9 (NKJV) says, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” Peacemakers help people get along and feel safe. Therefore, if friends are fighting, we can help them talk and make up. We can also say kind things that make people feel better. God blesses us when we choose peace instead of anger.
Let Your Light Shine for Justice and Peace
Justice and peace are very important to God and to us. For example, Psalm 89:14 (NKJV) says, “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; mercy and truth go before Your face.” Therefore, we should let God’s light shine in our hearts every day. We can show fairness and kindness at home, at school, and everywhere we go. When we let our light shine for justice and peace, we bring hope to the world. Let’s promise today to let our light shine for justice and peace!
