1 Timothy 2:12-14

1 Timothy 2:12-14 2019-09-02T19:52:32-04:00

If you support this scripture: 1 Timothy 2:12-14 “I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.” but not this scripture: 1 Timothy 6:1-2 “All who are under the yoke of slavery should consider their masters worthy of full respect, so that God’s name and our teaching may not be slandered. Those who have believing masters should not show them disrespect just because they are fellow believers. Instead, they should serve them even better because their masters are dear to them as fellow believers and are devoted to the welfare of their slaves.” your belief is in Patriarchy not the Bible.

If women can’t be preachers, then slaves should remain slaves, and the entire U.S. Civil War was a mistake.

I’ve yet to hear a reasonable justification for accepting and enforcing one verse, and not the other.

The two verses are four chapters apart in 1 Timothy and a world apart in application in the lives of some Christians. They live their lives based on one idea, and completely ignore the other idea four chapters away.
