Faith and Love
It’s been said, “Don’t worry about love, give yourself to your faith and love will find you.“
This adage is true. In this day and age, we hear words like, self-love and self-care often. The majority of us, believe that starts with who we allow in our lives through our interpersonal relationships with our Significant others, friends, family members, co-workers, and fellow believers. Studies have shown who you marry and hang out with can dramatically affect your quality of life and how you value yourself and others.
According to the Survey Center on American Life, 41% of single people said that they were not currently dating anyone and not looking to date. 42% Said they were not dating someone but were open to it. Others said that they enjoyed their single life, couldn’t find someone who meets their expectations, or just have more important priorities right now.
What Does The Bible Say About Being Single
In 1 Corinthians 7 V7-8, the Bible tells us that is advantageous to be a single Christian. Single Christians can devote all of their time to God’s purpose, and his various projects.
If you are single and feel like you want to be in a committed relationship you should see if the calling that God put on your heart aligns with the values a married Christian must uphold. Being single is not a bad thing. It gives you time to reflect on yourself and become a better person instead of relying on others.
It allows you to trust God and to trust yourself. Your intuition is like any muscle. The more you use it the stronger it will get. Good luck on your single life journey!
Dear God,
Continue to bless the single person reading this prayer. May they continue to be a living sacrifice in Your name and go forth doing Your will and spreading Your Word. Let them use their marital status to their advantage so that they reach other people through Christ.-Amen
