A Season Of Change

A Season Of Change 2024-01-31T15:41:14-05:00

As I sit here in North Central Ohio looking out my window I can’t overlook the two massive oak trees that stand 60-80 feet high in our front yard. They are so majestic and seem to be prehistoric, these trees are a high end squirrel resort with plenty of squirrel amenities. Filled with plenty of acorns for food, branches, carve-outs and leaves for great shelter, hiding places and entertainment.

Last week I noticed tons of squirrels on the ground and our vehicles were covered with acorns, which I didn’t really think too much about until the end of the week when I noticed a leaf slowly falling to the ground. Now maybe to you that doesn’t mean much, but to us here in Ohio that means change is on the way. The kids are getting ready to go back to school, fall sports are in full swing, county fairs are happening all over, and even nature itself is preparing for the upcoming change.

Everything changes. Technology changes. People change. Science changes. Occupations change. Churches change. Seasons change. Life changes. We live in an ever changing world, and we are ever changing beings.Whenever I consider the constant changes and seasons of life, I am reminded that God never changes. God says this in the Bible in Malachi 3:6 He says, ““For I am the Lord, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.”

Seasons may change, but God never changes. You and I may change, but God never changes. The fact that God never changes is a really good thing for you and I, in fact, it’s a great promise for us to hang on to in our ever changing lives. God has promised many things to us, and since He never changes, He is bound by His word to keep those promises.

God does not change. The Bible will always be God’s Word, and it will always be perfect in revealing God’s redemptive plan for all the World. The good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ will always be good news. God will always be all powerful, God will always be all-knowing, God will always be in and concerned about all areas of our lives. God’s grace will always be greater than all of our sins. God does not change. As the seasons begin to change, remember the same God that did miracles in the Bible is able to do miracles in your life right now. God does not change. May each of us find hope in His promises, His peace, His power, and His eternal plan of grace.
